I was 12 years old when I first decided I really wanted to visit London. I had taken my first flight, and had a layover in London Heathrow. I remember looking down from the clouds at the city, trying to spot the Big Ben, and wondering when I'd get to actually visit it. I passed through all the London airports within the next few years, but I didn't get to actually visit the city until two weeks ago.
I was flying with my mom and little sister Anna. We were meeting with Anna's best friend Mackenzie, and her mom. They have a flat in London and it was a perfect place to crash at the end of a very busy day sightseeing. Homey and just the right size, much better than a random hotel room. So we visited as much of London as we possibly could through the weekend, and had an amazing time together. I decided to experiment with the HD video on my Canon 5Dmk2 and wanted to tell part of the story with it. So here's a video I put together to summarize all the adventures. and then some photos that didn't make the cut (due entirely to the length of the song) but that I couldn't keep to myself.
What's a photo blog without photos? Here's some that didn't make the cut (due entirely to the length of the song) but that I couldn't keep to myself.
A sweet camera we found at the apartment.
Once back home I spent the first couple of days imitating British accents like crazy, missing London, and editing through the many many photos. I still don't know when I'll get to visit London again, but until then I have decided on my new motto:"Be Calm And Carry On!"
