Friday Findings::: iPad Frenzy!!

I did it. Last weekend I was home and I logged into and I bought an iPad. I'd been waiting since the original came out to see if I would ever have a legitimate excuse to buy one. Something to justify the cost... that's how I go about buying new gear.

For the last couple of months I'd been wishing I had one more and more. Extended long days out of the house, lots of projects and apps that I wish I could work on with a bigger screen than the one of my iPhone 4, and the backache from days when I braved to stuff my MacBook PRO in my backpack lined with school books and folders full of papers. Then came the research. Trying to figure out if there was really an advantage to getting the New iPad as opposed to snagging iPad 2 at a surprisingly low price. Do I need the New iPad, or do I just want it because it's new? After giving it some thought for a couple days I decided that the faster processor, the retina display, and the voice-over typing, pretty much made up my mind for me. As much as I hate typing on an iPhone, imagine on an iPad?! But talking... oh... that's something I can do!

So as I sit here impatiently waiting for the day when I can pick it up and start playing around with one of the coolest toys of the year, I scour the internet to find one of many many iPad parodies. This by far was my favorite!

Happy Friday!! (Stay away from !!!)

Music:::Blues'N'Breakers Promo Shoot

A lot of fun and a dash of attitude. That's what we were looking for when the Blues'N'Breakers and I met up to do a promo shoot for their upcoming album. A local blues band made up of two brothers and a good friend, I was invited to shoot one of their shows a couple months ago. They had a great sound and shooting them live was really a great experience, so needless to say we had all been planning on working again together ever since. When the glorious day finally came, we were welcomed by weather that threatened to crash on us during the shoot, but it managed to hold out and I decided to use the dark clouds to help add to the drama. After a couple location and wardrobe changes and way too many laughs, we called it a day and immediately started talking brainstorming about our next project together.

Watch out. You're gonna be seeing a lot more of these guys. You've been warned.

Kathrin::: Maternity

We were hoping for no rain. The weather forecast the previous few days wasn't looking too wonderful, and I was worried we would have to reschedule. It was the perfect day to do this shoot, so I waited until the last moment and I woke up that Saturday morning to a gorgeous sunny day. Thank goodness! Kathrin got in touch with me a couple months ago about doing a maternity shoot. She wanted it to be a surprised for her husband Xabi, and as fate had it he happened to have a work lunch/dinner on that exact day and so he wouldn't even know she wasn't home. Perfect.

We got a quick lunch and we were on our way to Plenzia. A gorgeous town on the outskirts that has a beach surrounded by huge mountains. The quaint streets and homes just wrap it all together for it to be an amazing location for a maternity shoot. We can change scenery quick without having to walk up, down, and around the world. So we spent a couple hours taking photos, reminiscing about her engagement shoot and fun-packed wedding day, and catching up a little on life.

Last I heard, she was going to spend the weekend sending subtle hints to Xabi, and they would all be leading towards this blog post. So without further ado, I hereby present to you: the unveiling!

Kathrin: You look as gorgeous as always! ;)

Xabi: I hope you liked this little surprise.
You have no idea how hard it was for these two girls to not give it away!

Friday Findings::: FREEZE!!!

Have you ever lived through a moment that you wish you could just freeze in time? Stop the clocks, the noise, fade the lights... just sit there forever. As much as technology has brought us, we unfortunately aren't able to do this, and therefore must use our imagination and try to retain our memories through photos, videos, and such. Still, I truly believe that it's those little moments that help you get out of bed on a gray rainy morning, brave the day, and get on with your life. From one moment until the next.

There must be some other people out there who think this too, and perhaps have taken that thought a wee bit too seriously. At least that was my thought as I recently ran into this amazing video of Grand Central Station!

Happy Friday! (Don't forget to stop for a minute and take it all in! ;)
