Travel::: San Juan de Gaztelugatxe

San Juan de Gaztelugatxe is a place that I had always been intrigued by but had never had the opportunity to visit. For some reason every time I had made a plan to go either something would come up, the weather would turn on us, or something else would happen. One time we made it almost all the way there only to find that the only road that leads to it had caved in!
During my friend Charlie's visit from Germany I was sure to make it a point to finally get to visit it. The beautiful chapel is as great as the challenge to get to it. First you have to go carefully walk down a muddy mountain trail, and once you do what seems like a trillion steps tease and poke fun at you as you brave your way up the mountain side. At least the view of the ocean is amazing and totally makes the hike worth it. So here's a little bit of our adventure.

I'm still alive!!

The traditional ringing of the bellower upon conquering the mountain!
